On January 21st and 22nd, 2022, the Conference plenary took stock of the recommendations made by two European panels and by national citizens’ panels on the themes “European Democracy / Values and Rights, Rule of Law, Security” and “Climate Change and Environment / Health” and on related recommendations by national panels of citizens. The debates centered on the recommendations of the two European citizens’ panels who have so far finished their work; each panel was made up of around 200 Europeans of different ages and backgrounds, from all Member States, who met to discuss and adopt recommendations on the challenges Europe is facing now and in the future. The “European Democracy / Values and Rights, Rule of Law, Security” panel adopted 39 recommendations in the final session hosted by the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) in December. The “Climate Change and Environment / Health” panel was hosted in January by the College of Europe, Natolin headquarters, and by the city of Warsaw (Poland), where it developed 51 recommendations within its remit.
