The issue of the participation of least-developed countries in international trade keeps on occupying the WTO’s discussions and, in particular, the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), which on May 4th, 2021, published three policy briefs containing some advices and recommendations to implement and encourage LDCs in making their move on the basis of different case studies that the Organization conducted on Cambodia, Madagascar, Lesotho and Zambia. The briefs are mainly concerned with the following issues: integrating trade in the sustainable development strategies of least-developed countries, supporting sustainable tourism development in least-developed countries amid the COVID-19 recovery, building better apparel value chains in least-developed countries. The discussion on LDCs is not new to the WTO’s scenario and creates many difficulties for what relates to the trade in view of growth, sustainable development and poverty reduction, that may bring new life to countries that on the international economy have a minor voice.
