With a press release dated June 12, 2019, the European Commission - given the uncertainty in the UK that continues to surround the ratification of the withdrawal agreement agreed with the country’s government in November 2018 and in consideration of the general political situation on the national level, considering that the hypothesis of exit without agreement on 1 November 2019 undoubtedly remains a possible, albeit undesirable - outcome of the preparatory and emergency measures prepared by the European Union, in the event of exit without agreement of the United Kingdom from the European Union. In this case the United Kingdom should obligatorily address the three main issues that relate to the need to: protect and defend the rights of citizens who have exercised the right to free movement before Brexit, honor the financial obligations assumed by the United Kingdom as State member, maintain the letter and spirit of the Good Friday Agreement and peace on the island of Ireland, as well as the integrity of the internal market. From the moment you leave without agreement, all EU primary and secondary law will cease to apply to the UK without going through the transition period provided for in the withdrawal agreement.
