During the meeting of the WTO members of April 21st, 22nd, 2022, many new trading measures were maintained or introduced by such members but those measures rose new concerns that were discussed and introduced by the Council for Trade in Goods. The measures moreover were relating to many sectors such as agricultural, information technology, fisheries, forestry and food products, and others relating to single products and, specifically, air conditioners, apples, cheese, cosmetics, energy drinks, instant coffee, mobile phones, pears, plain copier paper, pulses, tyres and steel. WTO Members also continued discussions on the Least-Developed Countries and specifically on the LDC Group proposal on measures to allow graduated LDCs with a gross national product (GNP) below USD 1,000 to be granted benefits pursuant to the provision of Article 27.2 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. The members of some developed country recognized the difficulties borne LDC members after two consecutive global crises but also noted gaps remaining in the information that is needed for this proposal to be workable from a technical perspective.
