Articoli Correlati: EU Parliament - tax practices - tax competition

On October 20th, 2021, the EU Parliament communicated its priorities for EU reform on harmful tax practices and a blueprint for a new system for assessing national tax policies. Considering that the great tax competition between countries - inside and outside the EU - constantly evolving, MEPs say the EU needs to review and increase its commitment to tackling tax practices that deprive member states substantial revenues, which lead to unfair competition and undermine citizens' confidence. In a resolution passed on October 20th, 2021, the EU Parliament stated that while tax competition between countries is not a problem in itself, it is necessary to establish common principles that states must abide by when implementing their tax policies and regimes to attract business and profits. MEPs note that politics and legislation have not kept pace with the innovative tax schemes of the past 20 years.
