On January 25^th-26^th, the WTO held a first round of meetings with its members on the possibility of reaching an agreement on investment facilitation for development; during these meetings the members approved a plan with the aim of getting new results for the subsequent Ministerial Conference as fast as possible. The coordinator of the negotiations, Ambassador Mathias Francke of Chile, met with all interested parties in the following consultations and all parties decided to put down a schedule that may help defining the main objectives they mean to reach for the first half of 2021. The members intend to create a text that could circulate already around Ester time with all necessary inputs. The final objective is also that between Easter and July all members will comment and add observations to the proposed text, enriching it as much as possible on the basis of discussions and the work carried out in small groups of members.
