On 11 June 2020, in the judgment in the case C-581/18, the E.U. Court of justice ruled that the general prohibition of discrimination on grounds of nationality cannot be invoked to contest a clause contained in a contract concluded between a manufacturer of medical devices and an insurance company, which limits the coverage of civil liability insurance from a territorial point of view.
