Articoli Correlati: Brexit - Switzerland and United Kingdom - bilateral agreement

Brexit formalized at midnight on 31 January 2020 will not lead, at least in the short term, to substantial changes in relations between Switzerland and the United Kingdom: the bilateral agreements in force between the Confederation and the E.U. will continue to apply to the United Kingdom also for the transitional period (extendable) expected until the end of 2020. In this period of time, it will be up to Bern to lay the foundations for rewriting and/or expanding future relations with this country following the guidelines already set in the strategy “Mind the gap”. The goal is to create a special relationship with London, which guarantees companies and operators, banks and companies to be able to work without barriers or bureaucratic obstacles with the United Kingdom directly from the Swiss market. On the contrary, they intend to guarantee the legal bases of the links in place even in the post-Brexit period and, where possible and appropriate, to extend them (“Mind the gap-Plus”).
