With a press release of 10 March 2020, the European Commission informs that it has presented a new strategy to help European industry to lead the dual transition towards climate neutrality and digital leadership in order to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness and its strategic autonomy. Particular attention is paid to the consolidation of a single market which stimulates competition and trade within the E.U.; offer E.U. citizens a wider choice of goods and services; create more employment and entrepreneurial opportunities; provide European businesses with the leverage they need to establish themselves as a global leader. As for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the aim is to reduce bureaucratic burdens also to help them operate throughout the single market, in addition to accessing finance and helping to guide the green and digital transition.
