Articoli Correlati: Brexit - CETA - effects on Italian companies

On 19 February 2020, a document called “Trade agreements - geography and trade intensity” (UKTF (2020) 13 - Commission to EU 27) was published by the E.U. Commission, which highlights the impossibility for the European Union of being able to sign an agreement similar to CETA of Canada, without customs duties on goods, with the United Kingdom, following Brexit. This is an important indication in consideration of the planning actions that Italian companies must take in order to be ready to face new post Brexit commercial relations. However, the E.U. says it is ready to offer an ambitious trade agreement, but on the other hand reiterates that the UK cannot expect “high quality” access to the single market if it is not prepared to accept the commitments required for open and fair competition.
