Articoli Correlati: insurance companies - investments

The insurance sector is equipped to provide long-term financing, investing both in shares and in small and medium-sized enterprises, but this sector is still limited. Insurers will find easier investments in the economy and this will help mobilize private sector investments. The Commission vice-president Dombrovskis comments on this statement that the main objective of CMU is to promote economic growth in Europe by removing the barriers to investment, by listening to insurers’ concerns. In the same way, the Vice President Katainen states that SMEs can play an essential role in job creation. To do this, they need a look at a range of financing options. Today’s decisions are accepted for SMEs and other access companies without problems for these financial instruments. Today’s amendments also modify other aspects of Solvency II regulations, for example by changing the calculation of capital requirements, improving the alignment between insurance and banking legislation and updating the standard parameters to better reflect developments in risk management and latest data. The amendments will now be subject to a 3-month monitoring period by the European Parliament and the Council.
