The European Commission has proposed new harmonized E.U.-level rules of company law to make procedures easier for companies wishing to move (following a simplified procedure), merge or split into the single market (including specific measures to help authorities national authorities to combat abuses). The new rules will also ensure a good protection of workers’ rights and the prevention of tax abuses, stimulating the growth potential of European companies, by digitizing the business creation and management processes. According to the Commission’s estimates, the companies will save around 12,000 to 19,000 euros per operation, for a total of 176-280 million euros over five years.
