The EU Directive 20109/1152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 to guarantee transparent and predictable working conditions in the European Union provides that European workers - regardless of the type of contract - have the right to be informed in writing, at the beginning of the employment relationship, on the rights and obligations deriving from the contract and on the conditions of the trial period. The Directive - which also intervenes to protect call jobs, riders and Gig economy workers from abusive practices - will have to be applied by Member States by 1 August 2022. In compliance with principle no. 7 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the Directive (EU) 20109/1152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 was adopted, concerning transparent and predictable working conditions in the European Union, published in the Official Journal of the European Union 11 July 2019. It should be noted that the employer provides or completes the documents required by the art. 5, paragraph 1, and articles 6 and 7 only upon request of the worker already hired on that date.
